Whatever Amitabh Bachchan undertakes has a unique factor in it. Here he is again in a new avatar of voice-over artiste! The actor with deep expression and sonorous sound will be the voice of Bhishma Pitamah in the upcoming animated film Mahabharat.
This is the first time Sr. Bachchan is lending his voice to an animated film. It is reported that initially the actor was hesitant to dub for the character, but the makers created a version to convince the actor which oscillated his interest towards the creation.
Earlier, the actor has lend his voice for narration in films Shatranj Ke Khiladi (1977), Lagaan (2001), Oscar-winning French documentary March of the Penguins, Balika Badhu (1976), Jodhaa Akbar, Tere Mere Sapne (1996), Parineeta (2005) and Swami (2007).
Apart from Bachchan, many other eminent Bollywood biggies including Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Manoj Bajpayee, Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff and Vidya Balan among others will also contribute their voice for the animated epic.
The 3D Mahabharat which is produced by PEN India is directed by Amaan Khan. The project of Rs. 50 crore is made as a tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema. The film is slated to release on December 25, 2013.
